on with the merriment of may celebrations..  our final wedding of the month will be none other than lois + richard!  it’s always an honor when our clients entrust us with their big day, but i am doubly excited and honored to be a part of this celebration because i have personally known them for years! 

lois + richard met back during their law school days in san diego.  i still remember thinking that they were a perfect match for each other from the first time i met her.  i’ve always thought of richard as a big teddy bear and lois is the perfect match to snuggle up with him.  they both love football (i think she may even love it more than most of the guys i know!), they are both super easy going and they both have friends and family who absoutely love them.  now years later they are ready to tie the knot this saturday in one of our favorite charming little cities.. pasadena.  their fabulous photos were taken by the talented tauran woo.. who would have guessed that it was storming on the day of their engagement session?

in any case, we are definitely looking forward to seeing them walk down the aisle!  congrats lois + richard..  we adore you guys! =)

connie and james are getting married next weekend! yay! i remember when they first got engaged… it was right before angeline and michael’s rehearsal at st. regis last june. i just love seeing newly engaged couples! and on 6/17/11, connie and james were both just glowing with happiness and excitement. we even forced james to show us the slideshow he put together for the proposal.  so of course, we were SUPER excited when they hired us!

i am so exciting for their wedding! they are such a fun couple with tons of friends… so it’s only right that they are celebrating their special day with 325+ of their closest loved ones! can’t wait!

i can’t believe linda + michael’s big day is just around the corner!  when i first “met” linda back in february of last year i knew that working with her would be an eye opening and amazing experience.  just speaking with linda is inspiring… you see, this fabulous couple actually met while serving in the us military.  as a matter of fact, linda was deployed in afghanistan when we first started planning their fabulous wedding.  after almost a year of being away, she returned home only to learn that Michael was being deployed.  i can definitely say that it takes a very special couple to go through an engagement so far away from each other with such limited contact.  as you will see from the amazing engagement photos taken by the talented crissy farah, linda is not only one tough cookie, but she will also be one of the most beautiful brides!

they have made huge sacrifices for all of us and our country and i absolutely cannot wait to see them tie the knot this weekend.  it’s sure to be filled with tons of love & laughter and we are so honored to be a part of their special day!  cheers to the fabulous couple!

we have a super exciting  may coming up, packed with 4 weddings! that just means that we have 4 fabulous engagement shoots to share with you!

let’s kick it off with chikara and eric! simply put, chikara + eric = FUN! you can definitely tell how much they enjoy being with each other. chikara and eric are also just so good together. they have been planning their wedding long distance, with chikara in socal and eric in new jersey. but helping them plan their wedding has been one smooth ride. chikara is one of the calmest brides ever. plus, our meetings are always fun, we end up chatting about totally random topics, and both of us always end up fighting for the bill. i am so excited for their wedding next weekend at skirball cultural center. i’m also sad because once their wedding is over, there will be no more daily interactions with chikara, especially since she’s moving to jersey the day after her wedding!

Sorry for being completely MIA in March! Between Mel and I, we were pretty much gone for the entire month. I went to Asia (Thailand, Hong Kong, and Taiwan) for 2 weeks. Right after, Mel went to Italy for 10 days. So we’ve spent the past couple weeks playing catch up!

But there’s no better way to come back from a hiatus than to blog about Janice and Jeff. Janice and Jeff are getting married next week at Terranea, one of our favorite venues! We’re been itching to go back since Lynn and Ungar’s wedding in March (whose wedding will be on our blog soon!)

Janice and Jeff… what can I say about them besides the fact that they are great clients! We hit it off right when we met and were so excited when they booked us. (Big thanks to Angeline and Michael for introducing us! Can’t wait to see you guys at the wedding!) Planning with them have been so fun. They are BOTH full of great ideas. Yes both of them! I love it when a groom is involved as much as the bride is. Makes the wedding feel much more personal. It has been such a smooth ride and a fun time getting to know these two.

It also turns out that we have so many mutual friends besides Angeline and Michael (thanks, Facebook!) No wonder we got along so great… it’s like the saying “You’re as good as the company you keep” and the geometry transitive theory  (if a=b and b=c, then a=c). Since we keep a lot of the same company and know so many of the same people, it’s only right that we know one another and get along well.

our first wedding of the year is coming up next weekend and we cannot be more excited! to top of it, we get to kick off the year with an awesome couple. lynn and ungar are just the sweetest. they are always all smiles, which is totally contagious. we always feel so happy and giddy after we meet with them… always! oh and a cool little tidbit: ungar does liquid pop! i’m a huge fan of the show, So You Think You Can Dance, so i am hoping to see some cool dance moves live next week!

their wedding is going to be at the beautiful Terranea Resort and it’s going to be absolutely amazing! this will be our first time at Terranea and we are just thrilled! i was a bridesmaid at a wedding here and it’s incredible. not only that, they have been fantastic to work with. can’t wait till next weekend!

melanie and dean are getting married a week from today on 11/11/11!! note: any groom getting married on this day should never forget his anniversary… ever!

we just love these two! they are so cute together and they complement each other so well. their personalities and energies just bounce off of each another and are totally contagious. soon after we met them, we were all giggling and chatting about their wedding (and life) like old friends!

melanie is probably the biggest boba fan i have and will ever meet.  being a boba fan myself, i would have it everyday if i could. i think melanie actually does have it everyday. she’s the foursquare mayor of tea station in irvine! that’s quite an accomplishment (and an honor that i’m jealous i can’t have)! so naturally, tea station will be catering at their wedding! YUM!

but aside from the boba, we are just excited for melanie and dean to be come husband and wife next week!!

annie and eugene are getting married in a couple weeks at the portofino hotel and yacht club and we cannot be more excited. these two have been so great work with and so on top of everything. not to mention.. they are hilarious!

the menu tasting we had with them was probably one of the most fun tastings we’ve been to. these two are so carefree that they make everything fun. on top of that, we really saw just how much eugene loves annie. on multiple occasions, as we chatted and joked, he’d make a serious comment about how he just knows that annie is the one for him. and he had a different reason for that everytime he said it! we were so impressed! plus, we were really moved, because it’s not as if he rehearsed those lines. we were just having a casual conversation and BAM! out comes “that’s how i know annie’s the one for me.”

can’t wait to see them make it official!

i have been dying… DYING… to blog about mel and sam’s engagement session. but i have been so frustratingly short on time. now i’ve been blessed with the gift of time, thanks to extreme jet lag. so here we go!

my beloved melissa is getting married in three week! yes, THREE weeks and i could not be more excited. usually, i feel a tinge of sadness (among tons of happiness) when i marry my best friends off, because they would no longer be 100% mine (yes i’m selfish like that). but i feel nothing but 100% pure joy to marry melissa off. you see, sam is my cousin. so i am beyond thrilled that she will officially be part of my family soon! as you can understand, this wedding is very near and dear to my heart so i can’t wait to celebrate with mel and sam!

for their engagement session, mel and sam went back to the scene of the crime, san luis obispo, where they met 9 years ago. (tangent: what’s the deal with guys waiting “9″ years before proposing?? my husband waited 9 years before he proposed too!) henry chen did an awesome job (as usual) capturing mel and sam’s fun-loving natures.

tina and miguel are getting married next month at the hyatt huntington beach and we are so excited for their upcoming celebration! i remember the day when we first received their inquiry. it was back in february, but i remember it as clearly as if it was yesterday because one of the first sentences i read was “my fiance and i currently live in shanghai, but we would like to get married in california.”

they have been absolutely fantastic to work with… we successfully planned their wedding from beginning to end in 8 months. you would never have guess that there were over 9,000  miles and a 15-hour time difference between us. i can’t wait for october to come around so tina and miguel can see the result of all the emails, phone calls, and skype meetings!

i had the pleasure of spending quite a bit of time with tina and miguel when they came to so cal in july. they are so GOOD together. they saw eye to eye on just about everything, making MY job much easier! plus, they are just a super cool couple to hang out with!

they also took their engagement photos while they were here, which i am so eager to share with you all! i had no idea that the cities of walnut and brea could be so pretty! thanks, herman, for the enlightenment!

miguel is a basketball buff, so they wanted to showcase his love of basketball in their esession

i also had a chance to meet adorable amaia. she’s going to be such a pretty flower girl for tina and miguel’s wedding. it will definitely be a very special day for her too!
